Ajax Amsterdam 2022-2023 Away Kit Concept

Ajax originally played in an all-black uniform with a red sash tied around the players' waists, but that uniform was soon replaced by a red/white striped shirt and black shorts. Red, black and white are the three colours of the flag of Amsterdam.
When under manager Jack Kirwan, however, the club earned promotion to the top flight of Dutch football for the first time in 1911 (then the Eerste Klasse or 'First Class', later named the Eredivisie), Ajax were forced to change their colours because Sparta Rotterdam already had exactly the same outfit. Special kits for away fixtures did not exist at the time and according to football association regulations the newcomers had to change their colours if two teams in the same league had identical uniforms. Ajax opted for white shorts and white shirt with a broad, vertical red stripe over chest and back, which still is Ajax's outfit.

Benfica have always worn red shirts; for that reason, in Portugal, Benfica and their supporters (benfiquistas) were nicknamed Vermelhos (Reds). This changed in 1936 with the start of the Spanish Civil War: the Portuguese Estado Novo's Censorship Commission censored the word "vermelhos" because the Popular Front communists in Spain were also known by that name. From then on, Benfica became known as Encarnados – word similar to "reds", but with a different connotation.

Anderlecht 2022-2023 Home Kit Concept

Anderlecht colours are purple and white, and the club's home kit is generally purple with white trim, though they did wear a black and purple home kit in the 2005–06 season, and a grey in the 2007–08 season. In the beginning, purple was the main colour of the shirts. The motto of Anderlecht ("Mens sana in corpore sano") is written on its badge as are the three letters "SCA", referring to the initial name of the club (Sporting Club Anderlechtois). A crown was added in 1933 following the name change to Royal Sporting Club Anderlechtois. Anderlecht's colours was inspired by Belgian immigrants that lived in Antigua Guatemala. Purple is the color of the city of Antigua and the color of the Belgian monarchy.

Conversely, Anderlecht's colours inspired United Arab Emirates Al Ain FC club to change their colours to purple, after they saw Anderlecht play in a friendly tournament in 1977.

In 1900, when the club was founded, the emblem of Ajax was just a picture of an Ajax player. The crest was slightly altered following the club's promotion to the top division in 1911 to match the club's new outfits. In 1928, the club logo was introduced with the head of the Greek hero Ajax. The logo was once again changed in 1990 into an abstract version of the previous one. The new logo still sports the portrait of Ajax, but drawn with just 11 lines, symbolizing the 11 players of a football team.

Aston Villa 2022-2023 Home Kit Concept

The club colours are a claret shirt with sky blue sleeves, white shorts with claret and blue trim, and sky blue socks with claret and white trim. They were the original wearers of the claret and blue. Villa's colours at the outset generally comprised plain shirts (white, grey or a shade of blue), with either white or black shorts. For a few years after that (1877–79) the team wore several different kits from all white, blue and black, red and blue to plain green.

The chocolate colour later became claret. Nobody is quite sure why claret and blue became the club's adopted colours. Several other football teams adopted their distinctive colours including West Ham UnitedBurnleyScunthorpe United and Turkish club Trabzonspor. Crystal Palace also played in Villa's colours until the 1970s.

AC Milan 2022-2023 Home Kit

Global sports company PUMA and Serie A Champions AC Milan have today launched the 2022/23 Home Kit, inspired by Milanese heritage, new generations of Rossoneri and 'That Milan Touch'.

There is nothing instant about this classic. Founded in 1899, AC Milan have been pushing the game forward ever since. Blazing trails and pushing for something greater. In 2022/23 PUMA has set out to introduce these values to the new generation of Rossoneri by letting the stripes do the talking. The result is a Home jersey that is forward-looking and everlasting – just like the Club it represents.

The black base frames the iconic black and red stripes into a progressive take on the AC Milan identity. The jersey features the Italian Tricolore on the sleeve cuffs and the Milan coat of arms on the upper back.

The new jersey connects the many generations of Rossoneri through their common love for the team because the jersey represents something more. A jersey that captures the style and beauty of what makes Milan special. From storied heritage to new innovations, the Club is footballing royalty. Milan is an attitude that says this City is different, it’s that Milan touch.

"The new AC Milan Home jersey is a combination of fashion, design, street culture and heritage. The jersey pays tribute to what makes Milan unique," said Marco Mueller, PUMA Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel. "To bring this jersey to life we wanted to create a campaign rooted in Milan culture. We have worked exclusively with Milanese artists, talent, and creatives all who support the club and understand what makes this club special to represent 'That Milan Touch.'"

Borussia Dortmund 2022-2023 Home Kit

Made of moments. The 2022/23 Borussia Dortmund Home kit sparks memories of the 2012/13 continental campaign: from the brilliant stoppage time comeback in the quarter-final to that four-goal haul in the first leg of the semis. The black stripes on the reimagined classic are enhanced with tonal graphics inspired by Zum Wildschütz – the legendary Dortmund restaurant and the birthplace of BVB. Heja BVB!
Borussia Dortmund was founded in 1909 as an offshoot of a church team in the German city of Dortmund. “Borussia” was taken from the name of a local brewery. The full club name, Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund, was shortened to BVB. Early years were spent playing in regional leagues until 1962. That year, the German Football Association met in Dortmund to approve the start of a professional league. Borussia Dortmund became one of sixteen founding members of the Bundesliga, Germany’s top flight.
